LCS Full-Time On-Site Students
Our full-time on-site students take at least four academic classes on-site. Full-time students are progressing toward earning an LCS high school diploma in compliance with LCS academic standards. An LCS transcript is available for classes taken and completed. These students will generally be treated as private school students.
Full-Time Flex Students
Our full-time Flex program is for students taking at least 4 academic classes with LCS, but at least one of those four is through the LCS On-Line Academy. These full-time students are progressing toward earning an LCS high school diploma in compliance with LCS academic standards. An LCS transcript is available for classes taken and completed. It is not yet completely clear whether attendance in a private on-line school in and of itself satisfies the compulsory attendance law. To remove any doubt, we recommend that Flex students also follow one of the various other options available for complying with the compulsory attendance law (e.g. notice of religious exemption, approved tutor, etc.).
Ala Carte Students
Ala Carte students take at least one of the available on-site or on-line classes and have the option of participating in athletic programs. These students may or may not be progressing toward an LCS high school transcript and diploma. Classes taken on-site or via the On-line Academy will automatically count toward a transcript. Families may petition for classes taken elsewhere to count toward an LCS transcript. We recommend that Ala Carte students follow one of the various options for complying with the compulsory law (e.g. notice of intent to homeschool, religious exemption, approved tutor, etc.). Membership in HSLDA is required for these students.
Athletics Only Plan
Students in our Athletics-Only Plan can participate in any of our sports, and they are not required to take any academic classes. However, they will automatically be enrolled in the LCS PE classes and receive a grade for participation. This is in order to meet the ODACS requirements for junior and senior varsity athletic competitions. They also must comply with the standards in the LCS Handbook, including signing both the Student Commitment Form and Athletic Commitment Form. We recommend that Athletics-Only Plan students follow one of the various options for complying with the compulsory attendance law (e.g. notice of religious exemption, approved tutor, etc.).
LCS also offers participation in standardized testing, academic and fine arts competitions (4th grade and up). In connection with Believers Baptist Church, Christian counseling, Bible studies, youth activities, and facility rental (weddings, receptions, field or gym rentals, etc.) are also available.
PSATs are offered in the fall and Stanfords in the spring. Tests include administration and evaluation. Call the office to enroll your child. There is a registration deadline for each test.
1ST Child - $25 | 2ND Child - $20 | 3RD Child - $20
Seniors who have taken on-site or on-line classes with LCS may choose to join other LCS students at graduation. The fee is $175, which includes the cap and gown, diploma, ceremony and reception. Students must have met LCS graduation requirements (see handbook).
FINE ARTS COMPETITION THROUGH ODACS
If interested, and student is 4th grade and older, must contact LCS office no later than January 31st. For some of the categories, there is a contest at LCS to decide when entry will represent LCS at the competition. Therefore, there is no guarantee that the part-time student will be able to participate in the Fine Arts Competition.
